In the Spirit of Christmas Celebration, the wife of Labour Party LP Gubernatorial Candidate, Lady Mary Nkwegu has Organised her annual Children and Widows’ party to enable them have sense of belonging in the Society.
The event is yearly characterised by distribution of food items, clothes, money and other valuables.
The Children and Widows’ party which cut across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State enables the Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr Edward Nkwegu and the wife Lady Mary Nkwegu to merry with the entire children, widows and the less privileged in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria.
The wife of the LP gubernatorial candidate informed Journalists during the program at her home town, Okpoduma in Izzi Local Government Area of the State that the program has been an annual event which has helped them to positively effect on people’s lives in the State.
“We have done this Empowerment programe for Children, Widows and
Less privileged for more than 15 years and if my husband Architect Edward Nkwegu becomes Governor of the State in 2023, we are going to make sure that all children, Widows and the vulnerable ones in the society are given equal rights and protection as well. By doing so, no one will trample on their rights again”
FREE EDUCATION TO LESS PRIVILEGE
“My husband, Edward Nkwegu and I have been into giving free Education and skill acquisition to the less privileged and vulnerable in the State. If My husband emerges winner as the Governor of the State in 2023, we shall also focus on Education for all, as we shall create a special Ministry for that”
“The Beneficiaries of of our free Education and skill acquisition are spread all over the State adding to the improvement of the economy of the State”. She added.
Furthermore, she said that henceforth, nobody shall infringe on the mandate and right of any widows in the State.
On her part, the chairman of the occasion, Mrs Agatha Ezeogo said she is very impressed with the activities of Sir and Lady Edward Nkwegu in the area of putting smiles on the faces of children, children and the vulnerable in the State.
She prayed for more of God’s blessings in their lives.
Ezeogo said “many people who would have been dead by now because of hardship are alive today courtesy of Edward Nkwegu and the wife”
“I call on all of you to come out en mass and vote for him for Governorship so that the whole State and beyond will be turned to paradise”
The Occasion witness Quiz and dancing competitions which Ibeagu Rita and Victor Nwokoro won first and second position respectively.
