“Umahi’s massive support to Tinubu has paid off,” ministerial appointment in order,” —-Akpu Enika

Ebonyi

The Immediate Past Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Ebonyi state, Hon. Charles Akpu Enika, has said that Immediate Past Ebonyi Governor, Senator David Umahi worked tirelessly for the emergence of President Bola Tinubu and therefore deserves any appointment he gets from the government.

Akpu Enika was reacting to criticisms from sections of the state especially from a faceless group called Umuekumenyi youth front which heavily criticised the appointment of Umahi as a minister of the federal republic.

The ‘Game Changer’ as he is fondly called, said that those who criticising Umahi were misinformed because Umahi worked for whatever favour or glory he is presently getting.

“Politics is a game of give and take and the efforts he put into Tinubu’s emergence has afforded him the ministerial seat after being elected a senator.

“Those people criticising the ministerial appointment also did so when he joined APC and working tirelessly to ensure that the party retained power at the centre and continues being relevant in nation’s polity.

“He was called a saboteur by many people for seeing through the future and and now that it is time for him to be rewarded, these same set of people ignorantly say he is selfish,”.

He advised those critising Umahi to have a rethink because he is a man with excessive grace.

“Umahi plays his political cards well. He is verse in the political game and an ardent progressive who knows what is good for his people and the country.

“He is a man the country needs now. He needs to replicate his infrastructural ingenuity at the federal level and the government is aware of this fact.

“He is a star wherever he goes and this divine touch made the senators to unanimously elect him the deputy leader of senate,” .

Akpu Enika said that no person from the Ekumenyi bloc should ordinarily work against Umahi in any form because he used his powers and divine sincerity to ensure power returns to them after his eight year rule.

“From the first day, he preached power shift to the Ekumenyi bloc and Izzi clan in particular and fought all form of battles to make an Izzi man the governor after him.

“He fought against a gubernatorial bid from an opposition party candidate from his locality and stood for equity in the political equation of the state. This should rather attract appreciation instead of hatred and negative criticisms”.

“Umahi changed the face of Ebonyi infrastructurally and empowered several youths and his legacies can never be eclipsed in the state and country,”
