The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide yesterday expressed confident over the appointment of the former governor of Ebonyi, Engr. David Umahi as the minister for works by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization noted that Sen. Umahi would replicate the “Ebonyi magic” in tackling the infrastructural deficiencies in Nigeria.
The group however, described Umahi as the “champion of infrastructural revolution”in Ebonyi during his tenure as governor.
This was contained in a statement issued by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and was made available to Daily Trust on Thursday.
“We are delighted with the appointment of Sen. David Umahi as Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Umahi is a man of proven capacity and integrity, and we are confident that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on the task of fixing Nigeria’s infrastructure.
“He transformed Ebonyi from a rural State into one of the most developed states in Nigeria by building roads, Flyovers, hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure that have improved the lives of the people of Ebonyi.
“We are confident that Umahi will replicate the Ebonyi magic in tackling the infrastructural deficiencies in Nigeria. We urge him to work hard and deliver on the mandate given to him by President Tinubu, in line with the renewed hope agenda of the Federal Government.
“We also urge the other Igbo ministers appointed by President Tinubu to be worthy ambassadors of the Igbo people. They should work hard to promote the interests of the Igbo people and to ensure that the Igbo are given a fair share of the national cake.”
The organization also urged other Igbo ministers appointed by President Ahmed Tinubu to be worthy ambassadors of the Igbo people.
