Umahi Unveils 477-KM C/River, Southeast, North Central, Abuja Superhighway

The minister of works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, has unveiled the proposed 477-kilometer Cross River, Southeast, North Central Apo (Abuja) Superhighway.

Senator Umahi, who unveiled the project at the Ebonyi State Government House in Centenary City in Abakaliki, the state capital, during a stakeholder engagement, said the project would bring economic growth to businesses in the beneficial areas when completed.

He disclosed that the road will connect Cross River, Ebonyi State, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, and Apo, Abuja, as Ebonyi State will benefit a total of 101 km from the proposed superhighway project.

The minister also noted that the project would cover the trans-Saharan trade route connecting Enugu, Abakaliki/Ogoja, and the Cross River Highway.

He further appealed to the people of the southeast to support President Bola Tinubu’s project in the region, as well as urging them to shun all forms of protest against the present administration at the center.
