The Ebonyi State High Court Sitting in Abakaliki has restrained a group lead by Mr Okechukwu Nwanguta and his cohort from being the Executive of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu Izzi Unuhu Community, Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State due to imposition of the group by the Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area, Mr Ebere Nwogba on the people.
The Court also gave order which has stopped the Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area of the State, Mr Ebere Nwogba from recognizing such group bas the Executives of the village, as the group led by Mr Okechukwu Nwanguta has been caught severally unleashing mayhems on the said members of the Village by use of charms and sophisticated weapons like small pistol.
The Counsel to the Plaintiffs, Barrister Luke Chibueze Adonwe disclosed this to Journalists in Abakaliki the State Capital as he moved in terms of his motion paper.

representing the good people and natives of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu Izzi Unuhu Community,Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, and Mr. Okechukwu Nwanguta, Samuel Uguru, Mr Innocent Mbam plus 5 others including Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba the Executive Chairman, Abakaliki Local Government
Area ,Ebonyi State”. He informed.
COURT ORDER
“Upon this Motion Ex-parte brought pursuant to Order 38 Rule (1) and Order 39 of the High Court Rules of Ebonyi State 2008 and under the inherent jurisdiction of the Honourable Court dated 28th day of August, 2023 and filed on the 1st day September, 2023 at the Registry of this Court and coming before His Lordship Hon. Justice E. Ogbunnefi, praying the court for the following order:
An Order of Interim Injunction restraining the 9 Respondent from recognizing or further recognize the 1 to 8th Respondents as the executive members of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu village, Izzi Unuhu Community, Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State as the Executive Members of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu village, Izzi Unuhu Community, Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State till the final determination of the substantive suit of Motion on Notice in respect to the subject matter”
” An Order of Interim Injunction restraining the 1st to 8th Respondents from parading themselves, dealing with the properties of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu village, Izzi Unuhu Community, Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State as the Executive Members of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu village, Izzi Unuhu Community, Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State or performing the functions as the executive members of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu village, Izzi Unuhu Community,Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State as the Executive members of Obegu Azuiyiokwu Inyimagu village, Izzi Unuhu Community, Abakaliki Local Government Area,Ebonyi State pending the determination of the Motion on Notice”
“And for such further or other orders as this Honourable Court may deem fit to make in the circumstances.
And Court after reading the 55 paragraphs Affidavit in support of the motion ex-parte and 27 paragraphs Affidavit of Urgency sworn to by Chief Paul Okekwe the (1st Plaintiff/Applicant) and accompanied written address. And Court also after listening to Luke Chibueze Adonwe Esq counsel for the Plaintiffs/Applicants move in terms of his motion paper”
“It was hereby ordered as follows:
That the application be and is hereby granted’. Adonwe added.
The Council encouraged the group to obey the court order as any breach would result to contempt of court.
All efforts to hear from the Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Chairman, Mr Ebere Nwogba, who was recognizing the leadership of Mr Okechukwu Nwanguta proved Abortive as he was not picking his calls at the time of filing this report.
