“Shun cultism and other social vices” – Group urges Edda students

… continue to be a good ambassador; support the council chairman.

The Mezie Edda Grassroots Movement for FON has urged Edda students studying in higher institutions to shun all forms of crimes and criminal activities, including cultism, exam malpractice and other social vices.

The organising secretary of the group, Hon. Orji Okoro Patrick, gave the admonition at Owutu Edda while the group were hosting the President and other executive members of the Federation of Edda Students (FEDAS), Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, at Owutu Edda.

“Be a good ambassador and of good behaviour, and also abstain from anything that could jeopardise or mar your glorious future.” He said.

He thanked the executives of FEDAS for the visit and further advised the students to work hard, face their studies and shun all forms of crimes and criminal activities.

He explained that the MEZIA Edda Grassroots Movement is a sociopolitical organisation in Edda that is committed to excellence, good governance , integrity, peace and cohesion and youth capacity building in the Edda clan.

While commending the FEDAS leadership, he promised to partner with them on ways to make Edda better in line with the developmental agenda of Hon. Chima Ekumankama Mezie Edda.

He said the chairman’s commitment to the welfare of his people and his ability to align with the progressive vision of our dear governor are exemplary.

He said his administration has shown a remarkable level of commitment towards transforming Edda LGA and improving the lives of its people.

In his words.

“The ongoing construction of Edda modern market Eke Nte Ite is a clear testament to his passion for transforming the local government area and creating an environment that supports effective governance.

“And apart from the sustainable peace, unity, and security enjoyed by the people of Edda now, the administration of Prince Chima Ekumankama has engaged in providing free medical care for his people, scholarships, construction of roads, and establishing Edda mass transit for ease of transportation, among others.

“In fact, the administration had not only met but exceeded expectations and campaign promises. We are proud of the strides by you. This administration has shown a remarkable level of commitment towards transforming Edda LGA and improving the lives of its people.”

“I, therefore, urge you to continue to support and rally behind the Chairman of Edda LGA, Hon. Chima Ekumankama, to ensure the successful realisation of its goals.” He said.

Also speaking, the secretary of the group, Comrade Sunday Okpani, urged the students to study hard and always shun anything that can mar their future and the image of Edda. He thanked them for the visit and promised them that the group will partner.

Earlier, the President of FEDAS, Akapoly Comrade Agha Bright Uka, had thanked the group for the warm reception and fatherly advice given to the students.

He commended the Mezie Edda Grassroots Movement for FON for the wonderful job they are doing in promoting the good governance of Hon. Chima Ekumankama in EddaEdda LGA.

The President, who expressed his willingness to partner with the group, commended the various developmental strides of Hon. Chima Ekumankama in Edda.

“We came to see the Mezie Edda Grassroots Movement to familiarise ourselves with them and get to know them more and as well to thank them for the good things they’ve been doing to promote the legacy projects of Hon Chima Ekumankama in Edda. We have seen different projects and works going on in our different communities embarked upon by the council chairman,” he said.
