The Senator Representing Ebonyi North Zone, Dr Sam Egwu has Trained over 500 youths, women and allied groups on borehole maintenance and modern water treatment techniques in the Zone.
The training was organised in collaboration with Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority Owerri.
Senator Egwu disclosed this to Journalists during the training at Salt Spring Hotel Abakaliki the State capital.
The Senator who was represented by Mr Vincent Uguru urged all the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity not only to themselves but for the betterment of Nigeria.
“There were financial Assistance, and distribution of equipment to enable you go into the world to create clean and portable water, thereby eradicating diseases that come from bad water”. He said.
In appreciation, Dr Kinsley Agbo representing the people of Ohaukwu Local Government Area LGA, on behalf of others thanked Senator Egwu for the empowerment program.
On his part, the representative of Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority, Mr Eze Charles Ikechukwu said the training will enhance the economic wellbeing of the beneficiary and to the State as well.
