The chairman of Abakaliki Rice Mill Industry, Comrade Obeji Linus, has hailed Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his approval of the redesigning of the mill company to a world standard.

The Ebonyi state governor, in a gazetted letter from the state’s ministry of lands and survey, unveiled the plans to redesign the mill company and requested a swift response from the mill owners to enable its commencement.

Reacting to the development, Obeji thanked the governor for his magnanimity and noted that the governor is a promise keeper, unlike others who came before him with promises unfulfilled, saying the redesigning would improve the production and processing.

“Rice is the trademark of Ebonyi State; the mill itself is what has given the state its name today. Previous administrations have come and gone, but none have benefitted the rice mill or intervened in its conditions.

“But he himself, even before coming into office, promised that he was going to intervene, and today he has magnanimously approved the redesigning of the rice mill to a world-class one, taking cognisance of each place in Ebonyi State.

“The governor has done well by touching the lives of the people. By this singular act, I want to assure you that the governor has proven to be a worthy leader. Talk and do, governor.

“The people of the rice mill are happy because this would not only boost production in the rice mill but also the processing, which will take us back to those days when we used to supply rice across the country.

“It will add value to our processing and be up to international standards. On behalf of my family and the good people of the rice mill, we say thank you, and we will continue to support his government, programs and policies, and we will be obedient in our service to him, Ebonyi State and humanity,” he added.
