In order to really show that Charity begins at home and manifest in the public, the Family of the Paramount King of Izhia in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, late His Royal Majesty, Eze Ogba Ekirigwe under the auspices of Professor Ike-Elechi Ogba has received their Son in-law, senator Sam Egwu at Ogba Ekirigwe’s Royal Palace.
The reception was to thank Egwu for all he has done for the family, people of Ohaukwu, Ebonyi State and Nigeria at Large.
The Organiser of the Royal Blessing/Reception, Professor Ike-Elechi Ogba disclosed this to Journalists during the reception.
Professor Ike-Elechi Ogba informed that “I deemed it necessary to organize this reception for our Son in-law, Senator Sam Ominyi Egwu who has transformed humanity and made the place called Ebonyi State today to be Educationally balanced, Economically Transformed and infrastructurally developed”
“Without Sam Egwu’s Free Education Program when he was the first Executive Governor of the State, Ebonyi would have been backward in the area of Education, healthcare delivery, Agriculture and infrastructure, just to mention but a few”
“Today, in this Community alone, Senator Egwu has raised over five professors, 28 Doctorate Degree holders and others”. Ike-Elechi Ogba added.
“I Organised this event to appreciate him and to also tell him that we are strongly with him in this his ambition of going back to the Senate, to still represent the people of Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, so that things will be better for us again”
“We are going to continue to do good which Dr Sam Egwu has demonstrated in our lives”. Ike-Elechi informed.
SCHOLARSHIP
“I Professor Ike-Elechi Ogba as a matter of fact shall from today to next five years continue to award scholarship for Msc in Crop science. All will be in the name of Senator Sam Egwu. It is going to be one person every year”. He promised.
We must support him because, Sam Egwu has the Character and the Competence for effective representation.
On his part, the Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone, Dr Sam Egwu expressed Joy over the recognition given to him by his in-laws.
Egwu said God has been his Fulcrum since the first time of his political history.
“I believe that they might have thought of all that I have been able to achieve for my dear State, hence this Royal reception”.
“We have three Senators in Ebonyi State but what I have achieve for Ebonyi North alone, Ebonyi Central and South if combined cannot boast of what I have done for my dear people”
“I attributed all I have achieved in life to God almighty”. Egwu said.
Advice For Youths
Senator Egwu encouraged Nigeria Youths to see working hard and trusting God as the only way to success “Don’t involved yourselves in anything that can endanger your lives. Don’t also Visit smaller gods to give you wealth because you must pay back with your blood”
“I must tell you, Since the day I entire into active politics till date, I have never known other gods except Worshipping the almighty God in Heaven. I have been a Commissioner, first Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria and now Senator but to be honest with you, it has been God almighty all through who has given me the power and the authority”. He added.
Eze David Ogba and the entire Ogba Ekirigwe’s family also prayed for continuous success of Egwu.
Others who graced the occasion are Ebonyi North Zonal People’s Democratic Party PDP Chairman, Barrister James Onah, the House of Assembly candidate for Ohaukwu North under the platform of PDP, Prince Okpuru Chibueze, and Barrister Ekuma Onyebuchi among others.
The Highlight of the Occasion was cultural dance from Ofuobu Cultural Group, Akadike Cultural Group among others.
