EBONYI
All things being equal, Ebonyi-based Civil Society Organisation, Odinma Ebonyi Foundation, ODEF will on January 10, 2023, publish a comprehensive list of individuals and organisations whose conduct and modus operandi run counter to the growth, development and progress of Ebonyi State.
ODEF’s Chairman, BoT, Collins Azu made the disclosure Tuesday in Enugu while receiving an interim report of the Ethics and Social Norm Committee earlier constituted to look into the pedigree of various political actors in the state.
Addressing journalists shortly after the high-profile meeting, Azu explained “the publication became necessary to get the masses informed about the calibre and quality of minds angling to represent them in various positions of authority in 2023.
“The idea is to quarantine, politically, those whose names are found in the list we are compiling.
“We stared into space, shook our head in utter disbelief, of how enemies of Democracy are angling to represent and lead us”.
ODEF asserted that those who will be published, are “People and organisations in this state whose conduct conflicts/ clashes with the development agenda of Ebonyi state.
He added:
“We want the people to be awakened to reality, then being swayed by the propaganda being purveyed.
“You can agree with me it is high time we sleep with our eyes opened, watchful of the best candidate to represent/ lead us.
“By the publication, I am pretty sure, the electorate will not misfire as we journey to another phase of electing leaders into various positions in 2023.
“Whereas those who should be treated as leprous patients are the ones angling to occupy sensitive positions, the idea of exposing these anti-Ebonyi people/ organisations become a life-saving measure we deem necessary to apply.
” The Committee will submit their final reports on January 7th and before the close of business on the 10th of January, the list will be made public”, the chairman stated.
