The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has charged the outgoing corps members of the 2022 Batch A stream 2 in Ebonyi State on sustaining discipline as they integrate into the larger society.

The state coordinator, Mrs. Bamai Mercy who gave the charge during the passing out ceremony in Abakaliki the State capital, urged them to be conscious of the NYSC slogan that encourages discipline as the watchword for life.

Remember our slogan at the orientation camp, that discipline is our watchword. In life, if you must make headway, you must be disciplined, not only in the NYSC.

“When you were in school with discipline, that’s why you were able to pass your exams at your various institutions.

“In your service year, it’s by being disciplined, that you made us proud. You must be disciplined in life“. Mrs. Bamai said.

She advised them to utilize the skills they acquired during the service year, noting NYSC’s willingness to assist them in establishing their businesses.

It’s because the NYSC is in collaboration with the Bank of Industry, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and some other banks. There is also an NYSC foundation that you can subscribe to, to move your businesses forward“. she added.

The State coordinator seized the moment to warn them against involvement in crime and criminality by being good ambassadors of the NYSC and their families.

While commending their positive conduct during the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections.

I am happy that you behaved well during the election because we have not received a bad report from anybody against Corps members in the state”. she said.

This media learned that a total of 649 corps members, made of 330 males and 319 females on Thursday completed their one year of national service.

However, 19 corps members, including 8 males would serve punishment for Abscondment and extension of service.
