The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has restated its commitment towards sensitisation of citizens on achieving a new Nigeria, calling on workers to key into the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The Agency also urged the civil servants in Ebonyi to embrace Governor Francis Nwifuru’s “people’s charter of needs mantra.”
Mallam Lanre Issa-Onile, Director-General of the Agency made the call on Thursday in Onueke, Ezza-South local government area of Ebonyi while sensitising Council’s workers on the need to support goverment policies and Programmes.
Issa-Onile, represented by Director, in-charge of NOA in the state explained that the sensitisation focused on building the people’s mind on culture of peace and understanding of Tinubu’s “renewed hope agenda.”
“It also focuses on citizens’ roles and responsibilities towards achieving a national rebirth for the people.
“Tinubu, the President has made it clear that its priority is to renew Nigerians’ hope. He has come to reposition the country for better.
”Yes, on the sensitisation, we have toured round 12 local government areas out of the 13 council areas in the state. We have urged the people on the need to promote the culture of peace, especially at the working places and in the society.
“It is time to achieve a new Nigeria and a new Ebonyi. President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru have good plans for the workers. Let us continue to be at peace with one another and give our leaders all the supports,” Director-General stated.
Issa-Onilu further decried the way the nation has lost its core values due to moral decadence.
”But, there is hope for Nigeria. The fuel subsidy removal is in line with with the plans to advance the economy,” he added.
Mrs Euphemia Nwali, Chairman of Ezza-South Local Government, represented by Mrs Benedict Onwa, Director of Personnel Management of the Council commended NOA’s team on the sensitisation, urging them to keep the flag flying.
Nwali also charged workers follow the foot step of NOA’s team and their teaching, noting that together Ebonyi and Nigeria would be better again.
Mr Ekene Nwoke, Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the area also thanked the Agency and repeated the call for financial autonomy to move the third tier of government forward.
”The workers in the council are suffering. What we only need from the government is financial autonomy and working tools,” Nwoke added.
