The Wife of the Governor, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru has welcomed 2025 first baby born at Saint Patrick’s Hospital, Mile Four Abakaliki who arrived at 12:15 a.m.
Nwifuru speaking during her visit to the hospital on Wednesday in company of top female government officials, described the baby as blessing to the state.
The governor’s wife who were ushered to the post natal wards of the facility, rejoiced with the baby, other new borns, the mothers and pointed out that her visit was to identify with the first baby delivery in the state.
She was quite impressed by the level of professionalism exhibited by the medical personnel to the well-being of mothers and their babies at the healthcare facility.
She reached out to other nursing mothers and their babies with financial support and gifts.
In her remarks, the Hospital Administrator, Rev Sister Nwanneka Uduh disclosed that the delivery was a normal birth.
Uduh said that the baby boy, weighed in at 3.5 KG and delivered healthy.
The hospital administrator commended Mrs Nwifuru for the numerous interventions such as financial assistance and payments of hospital bills to indigent patients.
“You have been very kind to the hospital and other facilities. The baby arrived 12:15 a.m and in good health, ‘Uduh said.
Mrs Vivan and Jacob Nwokwo, Parents to the new born were thrilled at her support and arrival to welcome in the new year baby.
Nwokwo appreciated her for the visit and supports, noted that the labour lasted since on Dec 30.
The agency reports that the event featured visit to other units of the facility and presentation of baby items to include baby bathing sets, diapers, clothings and cash gift by Mrs Nwifuru.
