Ebonyi
A grassroots mobiliser Hon. Joseph Odii, Wednesday, while reacting to the 2023 final list of contestants released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC told journalists that he “has been very apprehensive about the outcome of the final list” wondering “if, in the long run, Evangelist Reuben Egwu’s name, the Action Alliance Candidate for Ebonyi South Zone will be replaced”.
He said since ” Egwu made the list, it is now obvious, we have a messiah vying for our Senatorial district, Ebonyi South in the 2023 election”.
Joseph Odii, old-time ally of Evangelist Egwu added that he “maintained studied silence awaiting the final list to commence action and politicking in the contest.
“I want to tell you, journalists, that the time I will work for my dear friend has come.
” Egwu is my candidate. And as far as I am concerned friends, family and associates will vote for Egwu. We have been best of friends for over 30 years, and I can assure you that 2023 will be a year of a surprise to many.
“As journalists, don’t follow the big politicians without concrete plans for the people. We have seen what they can offer. They are good no doubt, but when we have the best, why going not go for it.
“I thank INEC and especially the Action Alliance Party for not replacing Egwu. That, believe me, would have been a fatal mistake.
“Egwu will defeat all his opponents in the senatorial election. Mark my words, don’t be surprised when you hear the result“, he further stated.
