The Wife of Ebonyi Governor, Mrs Rachael Umahi has charged communities in Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state to take charge and protect public projects in their area with passion.
Umahi gave the charge on Friday, during official commissioning of projects executed by the Council Chairperson, Mrs Nkechinyere Iyioku.
The Governor’s wife said to entrust the projects with ardor was for the benefit, interest, sustainability and to remedy it purpose for the rural population.
“Local authorities and the people should help protect these projects with desire,” She said.
She expressed satisfaction over the projects executed and described them as qualitative and community driven ventures.
She, however defined the Chairperson as an achiever, whose ability is to get goal for their team and people.
“I believe in her views and perceptions as a leader,” Mrs Umahi said.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Mr Augustine Umahi appreciated the Chairperson for showing transparency in her leadership.
Mrs Iyioku, commended Governor David Umahi for support given to carry out projects in the council.
Iyioku also, Chairperson, Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Ebonyi chapter, thanked key stakeholders, women and youths for their supports so far.
“I am proud of the traditional rulers for their contributions. I achieve peace,” Iyioku said.
The agency reports that wife of the Governor, commissioned, constructed local government lodge, named after the First Lady and civic centre at Ugwulangwu Autonomous community in the LGA.
Other projects executed include over 45 drilled manual and motorized boreholes, grading and lateriting of rural roads, agricultural and educational programmes
Payment of bursary to tertiary students of Ohaozara indigenes in different institutions across the country, construction of mini bridges.
Also construction of ultra-modern security divisional headquarters, construction of schools classroom at various communities of the council, among others projects. End
