Gratitude to Gov Nwifuru for Advancing Education in Ebonyi State, By Dr. Ben Uruchi Odoh, Hon. Attorney General/Commissioner For Justice

Your Excellency, Sir,

On behalf of the Ministry of Justice and the entire people of Ebonyi State, I extend our profound gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for your visionary leadership and relentless commitment to the advancement of education in our beloved State.

Your remarkable speech at the 13th Convocation of Ebonyi State University, held today, 20th April, 2024 has left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all who witnessed it. Your groundbreaking initiatives and far-reaching policies have not only demonstrated your deep understanding of the pivotal role education plays in shaping the future of our society but also your resolute determination to foster an environment conducive to academic excellence.

The 20% salary increase for academic staff and 10% for non-academic staff is a testament to your recognition of the invaluable contributions made by our educators and support staff. This gesture will undoubtedly boost morale, attract top talent, and cultivate an environment where knowledge and learning can thrive.

Furthermore, the reduction in school fees by 10% and the substantial increase in the monthly subvention from N200 million to N280 million underscore your dedication to making quality education accessible to all, regardless of their financial circumstances. This bold move will alleviate the financial burdens faced by students and their families, ensuring that no promising mind is left behind due to economic constraints.

Your commitment to rewarding academic excellence through the automatic employment of first-class graduates as lecturers at Ebonyi State University is a powerful incentive that will inspire students to strive for greatness. This visionary policy not only recognizes and retains the brightest minds within our state but also fosters a culture of continuous learning and mentorship.

Moreover, the renaming of Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital, AE-FUTHA II to Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital is a symbolic gesture that strengthens the bond between academia and healthcare, paving the way for collaborative efforts in medical research, training, and patient care.

Your Excellency, your actions have set a shining example of leadership, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment to the betterment of our State. Your phenomenal vision and decisive actions have laid a solid foundation for a brighter future, where education is not just a privilege but a fundamental right for all.

On behalf of the Ministry of Justice and the entire people of Ebonyi State, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and pledge our continued support as you lead us towards a more prosperous and enlightened tomorrow.

Thank you, Your Excellency.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ben Uruchi Odoh,
Hon. Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, Ebonyi State.
