Governor Umahi urges political parties to imbibe peaceful conduct

Governor David Nweze Umahi has restated the resolve of his administration to continue providing level playing field for political actors to solicit support ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Governor Umahi made the commitment during APC Local Government Rally in Ohaozara at Umunaga Uburu, Friday.

While urging relevant authorities to grant requests from opposition political parties for use of public facilities, Governor Umahi said such requests and approvals must follow due process.

“We want peace in Ebonyi State, do not disturb other parties that wants to do their campaign in Ebonyi State, there must be remnants, there was remnants in the house of Saul but the remnants in the house of Saul in Ebonyi State will continue to go down.

“When they apply to use public facilities and when they duly apply, you must give them opportunity, it is time for house to house, it is time to use your PVCs.”

The wife of the Governor, Mrs Rachel Umahi commended the people of Ohaozara for cooperating with the Governor to develop all parts of the State equally and appealed to them to reciprocate the solidarity of the Izhi people in 2015 by voting for Chief Francis Nwifuru.

The Governorship Candidate, Chief Francis Nwifuru thanked the Governor and people of the State for their belief in his capacity and promised to maintain the tempo of development in the State if elected in the March Guber polls.


The Director General of Divine Mandate Campaign Council, Chief Austin Umahi, the Director General, Women Wing, Mrs Catherine Ogbu and APC State Chairman, Chief Stanley Emegha appealled to the people of Ohaozara to repay the support of Izhi Nnodo people by voting for Chief Francis Nwifuru and other Candidates of APC in the coming elections.

The Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area, Mr Chinonso Consider Aja, Chairman of Divine Mandate Campaign Council, Ohaozara Local Government Area, Chief Chaka Nweze and former Chairman of the Council, Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku advised the people to vote for APC at all levels to ensure consolidation of the good legacies of Governor David Nweze Umahi.


The Senatorial Candidate of YPP for Ebonyi South, Rhoda Ebere Nwamini stepped down her ambition for Governor Umahi and defected to the APC at the rally.

The Traditional Rulers of Ebonyi State led by Eze Charles Mkpuma and the Divine Mandate Pastors led by Pastor Eunice Oyeyemi prayed for the success of all APC Candidates in the general elections.
