
The remains of late Ezinne Mrs. Orie Ndukwe (Nee Okoro) of Ezi Amachi compound, Item Elu Item Edda will be committed to mother earth on November 26, 2022, at Item Edda in Afikpo South LGA of Ebonyi State.
A statement released from the family and endorsed by Prince Uka Ndukwe Irem, Son of the late matriarch indicated that the Service of songs/ wake keep would hold on friday, November 25, 2022, at Umunnabuike Pri school field Item Edda at 5 pm.
The Funeral service is scheduled to hold at the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Amato Parish in Item Edda by 10 am on Saturday, November 26th, 2022.
It stated there would be a thanksgiving service at the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Amato Parish Item Edda on Sunday, November 27, 2022, by 9 am.
The statement reads:
“Late Ezinne Mrs.Orie Ndukwe peacefully passed on Wednesday 16th day of February 2022 at exactly 3.18 am. Aged 104 years old “.
“She was born into the family of Oko Nnachi in Amaocha Item Edda in Afikpo South (Edda) Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on 20″ March 1918, a family of five(5) children, four(4) women, and one(1) man”.
“She was the fourth out of the five children and by providence, the last to say farewell to mother earth”.
“But she prosecuted life with sheer determination, hard work
and the abiding faith in God.
“She had no formal education, she was a farmer, and since there was no other form of work or trade as an uneducated woman, she was able to take care of all her children through farm proceeds.
“Interestingly enough, she compensated adequately for her educational deficiency in the way she brought up her offspring”.
“She left a legacy of humility, kindness, service to humanity, and dedicated service to God”.
“She was a full and dedicated member of the Presbyterian church of Nigeria till
death. She never played with church activities, She was a prayer warrior.
“When she went to Agbor to stay with one of her sons, because of her dedicated service to God, the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (Agbor Parish) women’s guild stored on her with the Ezinne Award of honor as “pillar of Support” in recognition of her contributions to the growth and development of the church
society on 8” day of March 2020.
In further recognition of her service to God, the reformed Presbyterian church of Nigeria (Amato Parish) on the 28th day of November 2021, be stored on her another award of honor as Ezinne (Good Mother)”.
“She was an angel in human form, the epitome of humility and love, and an
exemplary Christian. She left a legacy of a good name that everybody who knew
her can attest to. This is the greatest heritage we-the children are so proud of”. it stated.
Ezinne Mrs. Orie Ndukwe (Nee Okoro) is survived by five children, twenty-one grandchildren, five daughter-in-
laws, nephew, Niece and other relations among whom is HRH Ezeogo Nkama Ndukwe Irem Oduko, Igbo 1 Amato Autonomous community, Edda.”
