Enugu tanker explosion: Nwifuru gives N5m to relatives of deceased 11 family members

Gov. Francis Nwifuru on Wednesday has donated a sum of N5 million to the relatives of deceased 11 Ebonyi family members from Enugu tanker explosion.

Nwifuru made the donation at Abofia-Agbaja Community in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.

The governor represented by his wife, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, described the deaths of the victim, Mr Jeremiah Nwaji and ten other family members as a huge loss to the state and mankind.

The Agency recall that late Nwaji alongside his Wife, six children, a male apprentice and househelp were among victims of the tragic tanker explosion at Ugwu Onyeama along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.

Also recalls that the victims were traveling in a private sienna vehicle to attend the burial of their late father, Mr Augustine Nwaji, when the explosion occurred.

In his remark, Mr Ikechukwu Nwaji, brother to the deceased thanked the Governor for the visit and wept over the loss of his entire family.

“I urge President Tinubu to look into the plea of the people on the need end lorries and other big vehicles to moving on the day period.

“They should only be allowed to operate at night to avert possible incident,” Nwaji plead.
