Ebonyi Federated women on Saturday expressed thier intense feeling of anger with Governor David Umahi over disruption of thier scheduled august meeting by men of the Ebubeagu security outfit in the State.

This came as a team of Ebubeagu security men led by the special assistant to the Governor on internal security, Mr Panchris Eze Ikechukwu also known as power, stormed the venue of the meeting at people’s club in Abakaliki and chased the women away.

According to eye witness reports, the reason for chasing the women out of the event venue was allegedly for supporting the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii.

The President of the organization, Mrs Amaka Chukwu while narrating the incident to newsmen said,

“We were just at the venue of the scheduled august meeting and discussing with the decoration woman when some Ebubeagu men stormed the place with arms and started shooting,

“Many of our women ran away and some even sustained injuries, some of them we are yet to know thier whereabouts, these are the governors boys he uses to commit atrocities in the state, that is what we are passing through,

“They said we are supporting AnyiChuks, but we were not there as a political organization, we were there to meet and assist our women in need , Ebonyi State is not the only place that women engaged in August meeting, is a whole southeast affair, why would our own be different.” she explained.

She equally recalled that the same Ebubeagu security men had disrupted thier private meetings at Onicha local government area of the State (the home of AnyiChuks) which she alleged were sent by the governor.

Mrs Amaka described the situation as unbearable and urged the people in the State to raise up with thier Permanent voter’s card and vote for good governance in 2023.
