Ebonyi State Commissioner for Aviation, Dr Ngozi Obichukwu on Friday extended collaboration with the traditional rulers of Ezza North Local Government Area of the State towards safeguarding the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport situated in their domain.
Commissioner Obichukwu demonstrated this known during a familiarization visit to the airport host community accompanied by the two special assistants to the governor on airport security, Mr. Nnanna Nwangele and Mr. Nkemjika Enyi.
In her remarks, she commended the traditional rulers for their role during the election that saw the new administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru emerge as well as noted their role in ensuring the successful construction of the airport facility.
However, she appealed to them to sensitize the villagers to avoid walking on the airport runways as well as to desist from bringing their livestocks to the Airport to ensure the security and safety of government properties.
Speaking further, the two special assistants on airport security, Mr Nnanna Nwangele and Mr Nkemjika Enyi reaffirmed their readiness to work with the host community to ensure the protection of the lives and properties of workers and visitors.
They called on the town union presidents as well as the youth leaders to work in hands with the government to ensure that the stealing of properties and trespassing of the airport facility is put to an end.
Reacting, HRH, Ezeogo Nweke Igbo of Umuoghara Community thanked Dr. Obichukwu for Coming to familiarize with them and appreciated her Selflessness in leadership, while assuring her of his support to ensure that her job at the airport is made easy.
