Ebonyi South Dispora group seeks support for incoming council boss

The Ebonyi South in Diaspora Group (EBSDG) has urged the people of Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state, to offer immense support to the incoming Chairman of the council, Engr. Timothy Nwachi.

The President General of the group, Barr. Oko Ewa Enyim, a former Legal Adviser of the Council who also doubled as the immediate past Legal Adviser of APC in Afikpo North LGA made the call in an interview, in rallying support for the chairman who will be sworn in as the council boss on September 1 by Governor Francis Nwifuru.

Enyim also called on people of other LGAs in Ebonyi South Senatorial District to support their respective incoming chairmen who alongside, emerged victorious in the LGA polls held on July 20.

“It will be a new dawn for the people of Afikpo North LGA under Engr. Nwachii because he is a grass-rooter who believes in ethronening true democracy in the council.

“He is a public administrator of repute, equipped in character and capacity to bequeath immeasurable development and progress to the council.

“His penchant for ensuring peace anywhere he is, will be felt by the people who have yearned earnestly for a pragmatic and result -oriented leader.”

The group’s president urged the people not to pile undue pressure on the new helmsman but be patient as he navigates the challenging tides of enhancing their well-being.

“He made several promises during the campaigns and with the guidance and direction of God, he will fulfill all the electioneering promises.

“The EBSDG will offer its continued support towards the success of Nwachi’s administration as he was choosen by the people due to his antecedence in the public and social spheres.”

He urged the incoming chairman to maintain his pact with the people and place his hope and trust in God to overcome all challenges.

“His reverence for the traditional Institution and stakeholders of the council earned him high rating from the people and this would be key for a successful tenure in office.

“With the confirmation of the LGA autonomy in the country, the people expects nothing less than transparency, financial prudence and commitment towards rapid development of the council.”

He commended Gov. Francis Nwifuru for his dexterity in galvanising the affairs of the state which has reflected positively in all spheres of the its existence.

“This pragmatic leadership has reflected starkly in the LGA administration of the state and the people are the major beneficiaries.

“Afikpo people should support the incoming chairman to become an apostle of this transformational wave in the state.”
