Ebonyi PDP Guber candidate bags chieftaincy title, Ozo-Igbo Ndu 1 of Ngboeje-ogu

Dr IfeanyiChukwuma Odii, Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi has bagged a chieftaincy title, Ozo-Igbo Ndu 1 of Ngboeje-ogu, Ohaukwu local government area of the state.

Our Correspondent reports that the title, Ozo-Igbo Ndu, was interpreted to mean, “One, capable of saving people’s life.”

Odii, popularly known as Anyichuks, received the title on Saturday during the coronation ceremony of Prince Ubaka Okpuru, Regent of Amoffia autonomous community, Ngbo.

Okpuru, who conferred Odii the chieftency title is currently, the Onochiri Nnaya 1 of Ndu Esheya Eke kindred, Ngbo in the area.

He described Odii as man of his people and explained that the Chieftancy was to appreciate and encourages him on his supports to the society.



The title is not just because he is contesting for governor but for his magnanimity to the people though his Foundation, Ebele and AnyiChuks.

“He has built over 140 houses free of charge for people. Many youths have been empowered through his foundation and over 10, 000 persons have benefited from his scholarship scheme.

“What can we say than to say, thanks to him on his philanthropist style. Our people have received series of palliatives from him even before now.

“Today, we conferring him, the chieftency title, Ozo-Igbo Ndu 1 of Ngboeje-ogu, Ohaukwu local government area,” Okpuru added.



In his remark, Odii, represented by his Running Mate, Mr Igwe Nwagu thanked the people of Amoffia Community for founding him worthy for the title.

He, further thanked the Amoffia council of traditional rulers “for ensuring that the process of the coronation was performed.

My gratitude also goes to the Esheya Eke kindred, other traditional rulers, special guests, who made it to the ceremony,” the Gubernatorial candidate candidate said.

Mr Chinedu Nwali, Chairman of the community, said the confarrement of the title to Odii was a welcome development and prayed for good fortune for him.

Mr Okorie Chukwumaobi-Okorie, National Vice-President, Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO), South East zone congratulated Odii and expressed optimism that the title would spur him to do more good things for the society.

“To me, I am happy for him and I know the chieftaincy title is a sign that he is doing to be emerged as Ebonyi governor come 2023,” he added
