Ahead of the Ebonyi State Local Government elections slated for July 2024, the Concerned Youth of Ezza South have presented a cheque of 25 million naira to support Mr. Sunday Nwali’s candidacy for the position of council chairman of Ezza South.
While presenting the cheque, Mr. Alex Ifeanyi Oguta, who led the youthful delegation, said that the gesture was to identify with Mr. Nwali’s selfless service to humanity, particularly in the Ezza South Local Government Area.
“His remarkable antecedents in sponsoring students for overseas studies, paying school fees for indigent students, and covering WAEC fees for the less privileged are a few examples of his unwavering commitment to the well-being of our people.
“His philanthropic gestures have positively impacted countless lives, inspiring hope and fostering a sense of community. Every year. Mr. Nwali’s, popularly known as Smano, celebrates Christmas, Easter, and other Yuletides with the rich and the poor in ways that show he is a beacon of hope.
“Mr. Nwali’s dedication to social activities in Ezza South and beyond has been exemplary. He has consistently demonstrated a passion for the welfare of others, often going above and beyond to support the needy,” Alex stated.
The group further expressed confidence in Mr. Nwalis capacity to unite the major stakeholders of the LGA as well as to play a significant role in the actualization of the People’s Charter of Needs agenda, as led by the government of R.t. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.
In his reactions, Mr. Sunday Nwali, who was overwhelmed by the kind gestures of the concerned youths of Ezza South, noted it as a reference for him to ensure that he leads the people and uplifts their standard of living, when he emerges council chairman.
“I am overwhelmed with the presentation of this cheque; this is a huge one, and I want to tell you people to take it home. I will never disappoint you.
“Not minding the harsh economic situation, you still levied yourself and gathered 25 million naira for me to represent you in Ezza South; history will take note of this.
“On this note, I want you all to know that Ezza South is our place to plough and not to plunder. I will do everything within my power to make sure that the reputation you place on me is not betrayed.
“When I become chairman of Ezza South, I will make sure that I re-awaken our lost values, respect our elders and stakeholders, and our economy will not be wasted,” Mr. Nwali said.
