Ebonyi Hosts 2025 Joint Consultative Committee on Education


Prepares plenary and NEC Meeting

All roads from the thirty six states and FCT Abuja lead to Abakaliki Ebonyi State Capital to brain storm on the National Education policy in Nigeria, way forward

Declaring the meeting open at Re-Meritona Hotel Abakaliki, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru ably represented by the Deputy Governor Her Excellency Princess Patricia Obila expressed his readiness to ensure quality education in the state, describing the assignment of qualitative education data and professionalization of teaching tools to Enhance national development as worthwhile, enjoining the participants to utilize data seriously, adding that Ebonyi is where one can live as one family irrespective of ethnic groups. stating that the state is hospitable and free from any form of fear.

The Governor represented by the State Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Obila also urged the participants to have fruitful deliberations,
The governor declared the 2025 JCCE Reference Meeting open with appreciation to Federal government for allowing Ebonyi State to host the meeting.
The Commissioner for Education Primary and Secondary Professor Paul Awo nwobasi appreciated the Federal Ministry of Education for chosen Ebonyi State to host 2025 JCCE reference Meeting after the cancelation of NEC meeting that would have held last year, 2024. While the Hon. Commissioner Ministry od Education Tertiary Professor Amari Omaka SAN thanked God for safe arrival and prayed for successful deliberations during group discussions.

The Chairperson of JCCE Reference Committee meeting Mrs. Anigbogu Obianuju stated that the purpose of JCCE meeting was to deliberate on the memoranda to generate data that would enable the plenary meeting and the National council of Education (NEC) meeting that will hold in Delta and Ondo states later in the year in order to formulate endearing National Education Policies in the country.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary Ebonyi State Ministry of Education Mrs. Mary Otozi expressed gratitude to Ebonyi state ministry of education for the State Governor who accepted hosting of the programme and called on the participants to pay attention during deliberations so as to achieve the JCCE Reference meeting’s aims and objectives.
Delegates from states’ Education Sectors attended the meeting while the technical section of the meeting continuous at the law faculty of the Ebonyi State University.
