As encomiums and congratulations continue to pour in to the Governor of Ebonyi State, R. T. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on his second-year anniversary in the government house, it portrays validation of his commitment to better the lives of the citizens.
In his congratulatory message, the Abakaliki rice mill industry chairman, Chief Obeji Linus, has observed that the state has never had it this good in the area of good governance, which is anchored on delivering the needs of the people.
He commended the governor’s intervention in security, human capital development, workers’ welfare, agriculture, and healthcare, among others, while describing him as a man of vision and direction.
Chief Obeji, who commended the governor’s initiatives in creating additional autonomous communities in the state, said it goes a long way to engender peace in crisis areas of Ohaukwu, Ikwo, and Izzi, as well as Onicha local government areas of the state, among others.
“The hallmark of his administration has been centred on the people’s charter of needs mantra, and it has been impactful indeed. I celebrate his achievements within this short period; look at the gigantic project going on at Vanco Junction.
“Look at what he has been able to achieve in security; the principal hallmark of every administration should be predicated on people’s lives and the security of the people. Today, we go out and come out at will.
“The kind of peace restoration he did between Izzi and Ikwo, between Effium and Ezza, between all corners in the state, Ishinkor and Abaomege, and in our various communities; the creation of more communities to extend his governance to the grassroots is highly commendable. It has never been this beautiful for us; it is an all-round impactful government,” he said.
Obeji, who maintained that within two years, Governor Nwifuru has been able to touch all areas of human development, commended the inclusion and empowerment of over 2000 hawkers who were returned from states such as Abuja, Anambra, Lagos, and Ogun to learn trade and save the face of the state.
More so, the award of scholarships to students within the country and abroad to study various courses, as well as commending his recognition of the traditional institutes by ensuring that befitting palaces were built for the traditional rulers and empowering them.
“He took our youths off the streets and gave our youths seed money to start various businesses, and in healthcare, our mothers can give birth in good and secure facilities because he revived all the primary health centres.
“Look at what he did in the rice mill, giving us autonomy to independently exist, and we are happy. This is the first time we are conducting a peaceful election without security agencies.
“He has given us that autonomy; no other government has ever recognised us as an independent corporate organisation. That is why I am saying 4+4=8; he should continue because the work he is doing is beyond four years.” He added.
