R t Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (FON), the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and the Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recently been in a controversy regarding his health status.
Speculations from the opposition have gone viral saying that Nwifuru is either a stroke, ( a sudden loss of consciousness resulting when the rupture or occlusion of a blood vessel leads to oxygen lack in the brain).
Probably severely sick and he’s unable to make public appearances ahead of the guber polls.
This perhaps was media propaganda to shelve his supporters away, as Nwifuru (FON) has maintained silence in the disarray of the expectations of his enemies.
Mr. Nnanna Nwangele, the FON Youth movement Urban Coordinator, who doubles as the chairman of the APC campaign council in the Kpiri-Kpiri ward has debunked the allegation.
Nnanna pointed out at opposition party’s trying to play politics to gimmick the people into dumping Nwifuru, which he said would not be possible.
“This is all propaganda, gossip, and lies, to discredit Nwifuru, and mislead the electorates, the good people of Ebonyi State that are ready to vote for him.
“From my perspective, it is evil to wish a candidate who is hale and healthy to lead Ebonyi with a rumor that he is sick and incapable.” He said.
He described it as the works of the opposition in the State, noting that the APC is leading and they would do a lot to spoil the movement.
“Nwifuru is in good condition, the youth should stay focused and keep canvassing for him”. he added.
Recall that The APC guber candidate and other party stalwarts were involved in a ghastly auto crash on their way back from their campaign grand finale at Uburu, Ohaozara local government area of the State.
Mr. Leo Oketa, the chief press secretary to the speaker had earlier cleared the Air via a press release explaining that Nwifuru is hale, and healthy, urging electorates to vote for him on Saturday as Governor.
“The Honourable Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is hale, hearty, and bubbling.
“Kindly disregard any ill-fated rumor making the rounds that he is sick by any stretch. It is false, unfounded, misleading, and devilish.
“Those wishing him anything other than good health, will be alive and see him win in the coming elections on March 11, 2023”. Leo stated.
