The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Nweze Umahi on Wednesday appoints a new set of 30 special assistants who would serve in different capacities ahead of his administration’s expiration on May 29th.
The new special assistants comprise some of the Development Center (DC) coordinators who the governor earlier dissolved as well as individuals whose performance in other positions has earned them the appointments.
Umahi conducted the inauguration ceremony at the executive council chambers, the new Government house in Abakaliki, and said the appointment is in line with the reward system in his administration for outstanding people.
He charged them to see their new positions as a call to serve and improve their profiles while maintaining that his administration would ensure adhering to its mandate before it expired.
The Governor also inaugurated a transition committee headed by the secretary to the state government, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala who was saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the proper handing over to the next administration.
