The House of Representatives member, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu, representing Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency in the national assembly, has commenced the peace restoration process in the Effium community after three years of killings and destruction of valuable properties in the area.
Recall that the Effium community was engulfed by war, which resulted in the killings of thousands of innocent citizens and the destruction of valuable properties and has lasted for almost three years.
Chief Nwachukwu disclosed his intentions to restore peace in the Effium community through an appeal made by the people of the community on social media platforms, meetings, and calls for lasting peace between the people of the Ezza/Effium community yearning for peace.
He further assured the people of the Effium community that he would collaborate with the state governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who is working tirelessly to bring an end to the crisis.
Recall that Nwachukwu had last year restored peace and brought to an end the over 101-year crisis that existed between the Ngbo community and the Igila community in Benue State.
The lawmaker, however, assured the warring community to provide all the necessary intervention through the Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) by supplies of relief material, food items, and support to rebuild and renovate properties damaged during the crisis.
“I have read your comments and listened to your requests from social media, meetings, and calls for lasting peace in Europe. Rest assured, our Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, is working tirelessly to bring an end to this situation.
“As your representative at the National Assembly, my utmost commitment is ensuring a peaceful, productive, and prosperous Ebonyi and Ohaukwu.
“I will also work tirelessly to ensure that the Federal Government, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), provides the necessary food supplies, relief items, and support to rebuild or renovate properties damaged during this conflict.
“We will navigate these difficult times together, and I am confident that we will soon see a better, more peaceful, and beautifully blessed Ebonyi and Ohaukwu Federal Constituency,” Nwachukwu said.
