Ebonyi APC Stalwarts Applaud Elebe Powerful Over Defection From APGA

Stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State have applauded Hon. Elebe Godfrey (Powerful) over his defection from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the ruling APC in the State.

They described his defection from APGA as a wise decision, while commending him for taking the bold steps and assuring him that his sacrifice would be rewarded.

Speaking at the defection ceremony held in his father’s palace at Amechi izhiangbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State, the Gubernatorial Candidate of APC, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (FON) said Elebe had seen the good works in the party and would enjoy the benefits.



Our brother has defected from APGA to APC because he has seen a good thing, we assure him that he will benefit”. Nwifuru said.

Elebe Godfrey (Powerful) was the candidate of APGA who ran for the position of a member, Ohaukwu South Constituency at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.


Earlier, Elebe said his defection was a sequel to wide Consultation with his supporters and family members, as well as friends and well-wishers who made him see the APC as a major player at the 2023 polls, and noted he is excited to have made up his mind to join them.

Today I’m excited, I’m happy that I made the right choice, I have seen it, and I have seen the reasons why I should join others because I believe that APC today is the winning team“. Elebe said.

Also speaking, the Former Southeast National vice chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Deacon Austin Umahi, lauded Elebe Godfrey’s move to the APC and said he would make a significant contribution to the party come 2023 general election.

Hon. Elechi Emmanuel chidiebere, who described Elebe as a powerful element of Ohaukwu politics, said his defection would enable him to reap from the fruit of his labor in Ohaukwu Local Government politics, noting it as a wise decision.

Similarly, Chief Fredrick Ituma Ododo, the FON youth movement coordinator in Lagos as well as the leader of Ohaukwu, said Elebe had made the right choice because it’s certain the APC would win the election, and he would play a vital role in its attainment.
