Ebonyi APC Guber Candidate To Improve Education, Agriculture Among others

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has said his administration would improve education and agriculture among other areas to enhance livelihood for the people if elected Governor at the general elections.

Nwifuru asserted while unveiling his manifesto, tagged “consolidation and Continuity “, at the official flag-off on campaign activities for APC, which was held at Iboko in Izzi Local Government Area Headquarters.

Our correspondent reports that the event featured massive mobilization of supporters across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State, including various Non-Governmental Organizations and Support Groups, as well as, stakeholders led by the State Governor, Engr David Umahi.

He commended the various initiatives of the Umahi-led administration on education while noting his administration would focus on the improvement of the primary, secondary and tertiary institutions, hence, introducing local dialect into the school curriculum.

To further improve the educational sector, my administration shall emphasize entrepreneurship skill acquisition in education for growth, self-reliance at all levels to strengthen the sector including its leadership.

“Through improvement of the infrastructures and welfare of Ebonyi State university and college of education. Upgrading the infrastructures and status of the State College of Education Ikwo, settling tertiary institutions, and improving the infrastructural needs in our dear State.

“Promotion of technical and vocational learning at all levels, rebuilding of more public schools and provision of amenities such as teaching and learning materials, including effective monitoring and supervision“. he said.

Nwifuru, who is also the speaker of the State House of Assembly, noted that the current administration has done wonderfully well in the agricultural sector and said he would introduce a practical approach to mechanize food production.

Other areas as unveiled in the manifesto include improvement of the health care system by introducing free medical outreach to rural areas and the re-establishment of the State University teaching hospital.

Earlier, the DG Campaign organization, Austin Umahi commended Gov Umahi for ensuring the stability of APC in the State and urged the people to support all candidates of the party to emerge victorious at the general elections.

The State chairman of the party, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, said the party’s choice of the Gubernatorial Candidate is in the best interest of peace, unity, fairness, and justice.
