The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has said that his party abhors anti-party activities and consequently reinstated its support for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT).

This is coming a day to the presidential election, obviously seen as a most anticipated one for the APC, following various controversies surrounding its presidential candidate.

Yesterday, several media reports online had it that APC in the State had allegedly dumped Tinubu and endorsed Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) as its sole candidate for the election.

In a swift reaction, Mr. Chooks Oko, the special assistant to the state Governor on media and strategy, described the news publication as malicious and misleading, urging the people to disregard it.

In a statement, Okoro Emegha said that the APC would not have contemplated withholding her support for Tinubu barely 24 hours before the election, describing the assertions as a “childish game peculiar to inglorious and undignified people”.

We cannot throw our well-developed and treasured weight behind the presidential candidate of the labor party, Peter Obi as being insinuated by shenanigans online.

“It is obvious that the story is sponsored by the opposition to make the Ebonyi electorate shift their loyalty at this eleventh hour because without lies no other political party can get any reasonable vote in the state at the 2023 polls.

“If the purveyors of the unfounded story are core professionals they would have done a balanced report by getting my view on the unwarranted issue because that is what journalism advocates”. he added.
