The candidate of the Labor Party (LP) vying to represent the people of Ohaukwu North Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Barrister Onah says he would synergize with the executive arm of government and other relevant stakeholders to influence unity and return peace to warring communities in the area if elected in 2023.
Onah, who stated to newsmen in Abakaliki, said his motivations to seek for the position at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly (EBHA), ahead of the 2023 general election, was to ease the pressure on him to deliver quality representation to his constituents.
“I have a burden to deliver to my people, it’s not about just going to the house of Assembly but to know why you are there, I must ensure that I deliver what is due to my people.
“Currently we have a peculiar situation in my Constituency, which comprised of the Ezza/Effium and others there, and for two years now there has been a war here and there and everyone seems docile about it.
“It’s not something I can do alone as a person, but I have a burden to ensure that the attention of the government I’ll be working with is brought in to stop the loss of lives and properties, we can’t continue that way”. Onah said
He maintained that he is the best among other candidates vying for the position and called on the people to support him and his party, noting his capacity to engage relevant stakeholders and serve them selflessly.
“If I have seen a good candidate among the other contestants who has the people at heart I would have resigned, but none of them has the solution, and that is why I’m still in the race because I have the solutions“. he added.
The LP Candidate further expressed confidence that the next year’s election would not be a usual business for politicians, and believes in the ability of the people to use their voter’s card wisely by voting the right Candidates into positions of trust.
