The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State has called on the people to disregard youths allegedly rented by Governor David Umahi to protest over the disbandment of the Ebubeagu security outfit in the State by a federal high court.

Justice Riman Fatun of the Federal High Court Abakaliki division had declared the Southeast Security network, also known as “Ebubeagu” illegal in the State and consequently ordered the DSS to disarm them.

In a reaction, some youths allegedly rented by the State Government protested over the federal high court judgment and gathered at the Pa Ngele Oruta township stadium describing it as void.

Mr. Charles Otu, the director of Media and publicity of the Odohzia campaign council has urged the people of the State to disregard the actions of the youths as it would not stand.

in his words; “Rented youths of Akubaraoha Youths Assembly have converged in the stadium for the protest against the Ebubeagu disbandment verdict.

“Some youths rented by Umahi have proceeded to Federal High Court and the State House of Assembly to protest over Ebubeagu disbandment,” he said.

Charles added that “they will retire in the State’s House of Assembly where each protester is hoping to get an N1k.” He added.
