Be good ambassadors of NYSC – DG charges Corps members in Ebonyi

Director General of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Muhammed Fadah has charged Corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme as well as thier various institutions of graduation in Ebonyi State.

Fadah gave the charge at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Batch B stream 2 orientation course held at the NYSC parmanent site, Old Macgregor college in Afikpo north local government area of the State.

“At all times, you should be good ambassadors of the NYSC as well as your families and institutions of graduation.

“Therefore, you must be wary of acts that portray negative image of the Scheme, especially vices such as drug abuse and trafficking, cybercrime and Advanced-Fee-Fraud.

“Also remember that your membership of the Service Corps does not confer on you immunity from the legal consequences of any wrongdoing.

“I therefore, enjoin you to continue to be law-abiding while also serving as role models for the younger ones”. Fadah said.

The DG, who was represented by the State coordinator, Mrs Bamai Mercy, had earlier commended thier participation in entrepreneurship training under the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, (SAED) and encouraged them to avail themselves for post camp trainings to further equip them for self reliance.

” I have received impressive reports on your participation in the entrepreneurial trainings conducted in Camp under the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.

” I encourage you to build on the skills acquired by availing yourselves of opportunities for post-camp training as this will go a long way in empowering you for self-reliance”. he said.

He cautioned the Corp members against Involvement in local politics and encouraged them to initiate personal development programs to benefit their host communities.

The DG equally urged them to continue observing the Covid-19 safety measures, as well as to avoid using the social media for peddling stories liable to deteriorate the unity and peace of the Nation.
