The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has rewarded the Model Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Ugwuachara in Ebonyi for emerging first for the state at the second edition of the Integrity Club National Drama-Video competition held in Abuja.
Our correspondent recalls that the competition organized by NOA in conjunction with the Independent, Corrupt Practices, and other related offenses Commission (ICPC) was held to commemorate the 62nd Independence anniversary.
The Integrity Club 2022 held on Oct. 1, featured the second edition of the competition among schools tied to national ethics and values with the topic “Integrity Pays.”
Dr. Desmond Onwo, State Director of NOA presented a congratulatory letter and N20,000 cash prize to the school principal on Friday in Abakaliki.
The Director said that the club and the competition in particular aimed at eradicating social vices among school children in the country.
Onwo added that the social vices included lateness to school, disrespect for teachers, cultism, stealing, and prostitution amongst others.
He said that about 12 schools participated in competition out of the 30 schools that have established the Integrity club in the state.
The Director commended the school on their intellectual exhibition in the playlet and on the importance of curbing all forms of negative vices among citizens.
It recalls that the school had on Feb. 14, emerged first at the maiden edition of the competition
One further commended the school management for instilling morals of discipline and hard work in their students.
The director urged the students to continue being good in character and learning, adding they were the future leaders of the Nation.
Mrs. Comfort Anagor, the Principal of the school, commended NOA for putting up competition for schools.
Angor assured the Agency of support to sustain the club in the school.
Royal Comprehensive College, Ezza-Ningbo, Ebonyi came second, while Nnodo Secondary School, Abakaliki came third in the competition
