A former Ebonyi state House of Assembly Aspirant and Special Assistant to the Ishielu Local Chairman on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Egbe Stephen Chinoso, has commended Engr. Lebechi Mbam, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Works, for his exemplary efforts in road construction across the state.
During a recent briefing with journalists in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, Hon. Egbe highlighted the impressive strides made by the Commissioner in alignment with the Governor’s People’s Charter of Needs.
He emphasized that Engr. Mbam’s initiatives have significantly contributed to the delivery of quality road infrastructure, fulfilling the campaign promises of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
“Engr. Mbam has excelled in steering the Ministry of Works, overseeing various road projects. Many of these projects have already been commissioned, while others are nearing completion,” Hon. Egbe stated.
Addressing concerns raised by some members of the public regarding the complexity of the Vanco Junction Flyover project, he clarified its significance. “The Vanco project is not just a flyover; it boasts a tunnel approximately one kilometer long, along with a 28-span bridge and other associated works. This project is unique in the South East and aims to enhance the capital city of Abakaliki. While some may question the need for such infrastructure, history has shown that previous projects, initially viewed with skepticism, have ultimately become points of reference for the state.”
He further expressed optimism regarding the timely completion of the project, which has a 24-month timeline, stating, “We are currently nine months in office, and I am confident that the commissioner will complet the job within the stipulated time frame.
“The supervision by the State Ministry of Works is commendable, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality.”
Hon. Egbe also noted that the Commissioner for Works has positively impacted not only main thoroughfares but also various streets throughout the Abakaliki capital territory, contributing to the beautification and development of urban roads within the state.
In conclusion, Egbe urged the public to remain patient and supportive of the ongoing projects, assuring them that the efforts of the state government will lead to improved infrastructure and overall development in Ebonyi State.
